Overview

Mattie Rhodes Center provides a variety of community programs for neighborhood residents, community partners and existing Mattie Rhodes Center clients.  Community programs are offered in the areas of:

  • Youth Development
  • Health and Wellness
  • Community Engagement

Mattie Rhodes Center also partners with other agencies and organizations, acting as the convener, for the Latino Advocacy Taskforce and the Hispanic Civic Engagement Project.

The Latino Advocacy Taskforce (LAT) works to provide advocacy and support services for Latino families that have fallen victim to violent crime. The Taskforce serve victims by offering counseling services, victims advocacy, and other support services as needed.  The Taskforce also works to provide outreach to the community in a time of need, helping all community members process the act of violence and acting as the voice of the local Hispanic community.

The Hispanic Civic Engagement Project (HECP) is a consortium of seven organizations working in Kansas City, Missouri to meet the needs of the local Hispanic population.  They work together to advance the missions of each organization, share resources and identify new opportunities.  Members include: Cabot Westside Health Center, Guadalupe Centers Inc., Hispanic Economic Development Corporation, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City, LNESC-KC (LULAC National Education Service Center of Kansas City), Mattie Rhodes Center, and Westside Housing Organization.
